Indexing
Indexing is when a search engine stores a page in its database after crawling it, so the page can appear in search results. A page that isn't indexed can't rank.
Common reasons pages aren't indexed
- A noindex tag or a robots.txt block.
- A canonical tag pointing to another page.
- Thin or duplicate content Google chose not to index.
- No internal links pointing to the page.
- The site is new and hasn't been crawled yet.
How to check and fix
Use the URL Inspection tool and the Pages report in Google Search Console. Fix the cause, then request indexing for important pages.
