Schema markup

Also called Structured data, JSON-LD

Schema markup is code added to a web page that tells search engines and AI tools exactly what the page describes: an organization, a service, an article, a FAQ, a product or a price. It uses the shared vocabulary at schema.org.

How schema markup works

Most sites add it as a block of JSON-LD in the page. Visitors don't see it; crawlers read it alongside the visible content. The markup must match what's on the page.

Schema types every SaaS site should use

  • Organization: who you are, your logo, profiles and contact details.
  • WebSite and BreadcrumbList: how the site fits together.
  • Service or SoftwareApplication: what you sell.
  • FAQPage: the questions answered on the page.
  • Article or BlogPosting: your guides, with author and dates.

Why it matters

Schema can make pages eligible for richer search results and helps search engines and AI tools connect your pages into one clear picture of your brand, which supports both SEO and AEO.
