The challenge

Sentry Boats had more than 25 years of experience keeping workers safe on rivers, canals, reservoirs and coastal waters, but buyers in construction, utilities and government had to take that on trust.

Their range also went well beyond safety boats: hydrographic survey vessels, media and filming platforms, workboats, water sampling, environmental protection and leisure charters. The website needed to make all of that easy to find.

What we did

  1. 1

    Lead with the promise

A full-screen hero of a crew member on the water with one line in a bold frame: Watching over your workforce from the water.

  2. 2

A brand you can spot from the bank

Hi-vis green and black, taken from the logo and the crews' kit, so the site feels like the boats look.

  3. 3

    Proof on every page

Dedicated pages for the boats, the people, the track record and the CSR work, plus press coverage of a rescue on the River Tyne.

  4. 4

    Easy to call

The phone number sits in the top corner of every page, with social links alongside, because most jobs start with a call.

  5. 5

    Built to last

A custom WordPress theme the team could update themselves, written for searches like safety boats UK.

The outcome

The site served as Sentry Boats' shop window for five years, from 2020 until the company's next redesign in 2025.
