Performance Marketing Is a System, Not a Channel
By Jordan Lee, Head of Performance
Why ad budgets stall when they run in isolation — and the four connections that make paid, search and brand compound.
Most paid programs hit a ceiling. Costs creep up, conversion flattens and the answer is always the same: more budget. The problem usually isn't the ads. It's everything around them.
Paid media performs best when it's connected. Ads should land on pages built for that exact promise. Search data should tell paid which messages buyers respond to. Brand should make the click feel familiar before it happens. And tracking should follow the buyer all the way to revenue.
When those four connections are in place, every channel makes the others cheaper. Organic search can lower paid costs on branded terms. Strong creative lifts conversion everywhere. Clean data stops budget leaking into campaigns that never close.
Before you raise your ad budget, map these connections. Fix the weakest one first — it's almost always cheaper than buying more clicks.
